Cluster Poetry Slam

On Wednesday a selection of children from across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 represented Bracken Leas in a local ‘Poetry Slam’ competition for local cluster schools.

This was a fantastic opportunity for them to enjoy a performance to a public audience and was a very memorable evening. Our children showed tremendous courage in performing on the stage to a large audience at Magdalen College School (MCS). All of our children performed in groups, reciting a poem, and worked tremendously hard on their selection. The competition was judged by Louise Stothard from the Federation of Children’s Books and selected Year 7 pupils from MCS.

Congratulations to them all and well done Y5/6 who won their category with a groovy rap! Their prize is a wonderful book bundle and Book Tokens.
