Year 4 Aylmerton Residential
This week our year 4 children have been at their residential in Aylmerton, Norfolk. They have learned so much about precious stones on the beach, rocks, rivers, flooding and coastal erosion. The children spent time in the river taking river measurements; width, depth and flow of the water, and making scientific observations about the shape and size of the rocks on the river bed.
They also went for a twilight walk to explore the magic and wonder that is the woods after dark and were very lucky to have some knowledgeable experts lead them around with fantastic stories to tell. The evening concluded with a wonderful campfire story.
A big thank you to the staff of Aylmerton Field Study Centre and to the teachers and staff that accompanied the children on their trip, creating great memories, promoting teamwork and giving them all a wider understanding of their natural environment.
