Operation Encompass

Our school is proud to be part of Operation Encompass, a national police and education early intervention safeguarding partnership. It enables police to notify our Designated Safeguarding Lead (Key Adult) before the school day begins if a child has experienced or been exposed to domestic abuse, ensuring they receive immediate, sensitive support.

About Operation Encompass

Witnessing or experiencing domestic abuse has a significant impact on a child's wellbeing. Operation Encompass ensures that our staff are promptly and confidentially informed so we can:

• Provide a calm, supportive, and safe environment from the moment the child arrives at school.
• Monitor their emotional state and offer targeted pastoral care.
• Understand any sudden changes in behaviour or academic focus.

Our Commitment

• At our school, the safety and welfare of our pupils is our highest priority. By participating in this program, we work directly with local police to break the cycle of domestic abuse and ensure that every child gets the help they need right when they need it most.
• All notifications are handled with the highest level of confidentiality and are shared only with the relevant key adults on a strictly "need-to-know" basis.

Speaking to Someone in Confidence

If you have any worries, concerns, or would like to talk to someone in confidence, our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and Deputy Safeguarding Leads are here to help. You can speak to them privately about any issue affecting your safety, wellbeing, or home life.

All conversations will be handled sensitively, and information will only be shared when necessary to keep you or others safe.
